It's really quite easy to go from LJ username to realname (assuming you know the person); the opposite direction is rather harder.

In other news, The Shop On The Bridge (in Reading, not on a bridge and at the wrong end of the Oxford Road) is dead good for minor electronics stuff, like a new fuse and light bulb for my ailing microwave. Sadly it still blows the fuse as soon as it tries to actually turn on the magnetron, so either buggered door interlocks or something nasty in the EHT section.

Now you can get your car serviced by the elite technical repair teams who mysteriously and instantly return the Space Battleship Yamato to showroom condition after every battle: あんしんヤマト車検 (NB: Japanese only; lousy translation: "Yamato MOTs for peace of mind").

Apparently a genuine company; they have TV advertising and everything (adverts perhaps aimed at the fanboy since the script runs something like [photographer to catwalk model] "Uno! You forgot your skirt!" [voiceover] "She was too busy worrying about the cost of her next MOT"...)

Furthermore, there is a Japanese word meaning "one's beloved car" (愛車 【あいしゃ】 aisha).
