raindrops keep falling on my head

A little while back, a chunk of the paint on the woodwork around my kitchen skylight unexpectedly fell off. This evening I found out why...

It looks as if there's a leak somewhere at the top of the window surround -- water is apparently going behind the wood that forms a frame around the window and then dripping out at the bottom edge where the frame meets the wall proper, which is why the paint all detached from that bottom edge. The only good thing is that it's currently a fairly slow leak -- about three drops a minute. I see builders in my future -- any hints for finding a good one?

and while I'm trolling for recommendations...

...any suggestions for an ADSL modem? I want cheap, preferably more than one ethernet port, able to do a non-NAT configuration, and not a conexant chipset with vxworks firmware (since I have one of those at the moment and it has an annoying trick of crashing when the ADSL line goes down and requiring a powercycle). I'm currently inclined towards the Speedtouch 545. Alternatively, I might be willing to pay a bit more for something user-hackable that runs Linux...
