Adventures in freehold purchasing

pm215Our efforts to actually buy the freehold here took a step forward today; I went and saw a solicitor for an initial consultation (first one's free!) and got some advice on the next steps. The first thing we need is a valuation: I've spoken to the guy the solicitor recommended: it will cost 750 quid plus VAT. Now everybody needs to actually put their hand in their pocket and pay their part of this. I wonder how long it will take for everybody to do that...?
