well, that was a lousy weekend

The Plan: drive down to my parents on Friday evening and stay with them for the weekend in order to attend a party celebrating a friend's engagement.

The Enemy: a stomach bug of some form.

First Contact: Saturday morning.

The Outcome: spent Saturday morning being really ill, and the rest of Saturday merely unable to stand up for five minutes without feeling faint. Recovered somewhat on Sunday but still not up to driving home until Monday morning... I was rather looking forward to that party, not least because it was an opportunity to see friends I don't usually see more than a few times a year :-(
