flying visit

For those who don't already know: my employers have granted me an extra three months stay in Japan (doing some work for them whilst studying). So although I'm coming back at the end of March I'm only going to be in the UK for a week and a half or so before flying back again...

I shall probably drop into the office one Friday (either 1st April or 8th April depending on how I wind up organising everything else).

( This next bit is a whine, sorry. )

Anybody interested in this probably reads Language Log already, but this entry gives a brief abstract, description and link to a PDF paper about Piraha, a language with a whole collection of apparently culturally-based restrictions (no numbers or counting system, no colour terms, no embedded sentences (recursion), etc).
