I was just trying to look up the kanji 悟, which means 'enlightenment'. However, due to an indexing error I couldn't find it in WWWJDIC. I ended up having to look up a similar kanji (with the same right hand side), follow a link to a handy etymological database of Chinese characters which grouped it with other similar characters; this did include the character I was after, so I was then able to copy it and paste it back into WWWJDIC to find what I was looking for.

...I guess it's true what they say: the way to enlightenment is long and arduous.

(I was trying to identify the word in this Sinfest comic; turns out it's 'satori'.)

Oh - I'd assumed it meant "three". I don't see the point of the strip now. :-/

The calligraphy strips are usually just transformations of characters into vaguely related words, aren't they?

I wouldn't know!

I'm having trouble with the acronym "WWWJDIC", because of it containing "WWJD". I keep thinking it ought to stand for something along the lines of "Why 'What Would Jesus Do?' Is Controversial", or similar :-)

Don't know if you can be bothered but the Firefox Japanese traslator plug in managed to work that kanji out (abet that definition with a couple of others.)
