Apparently I last ran a backup in March 2003... Oh well, fresh lot tonight.

But I still have no good long term strategy: no backups of this win32 laptop or of the NeXTstation, and if I ever get the Alpha set up then the 9GB of disk on that will rather exceed the capacity of this DAT drive.

UPDATE:

cpio: /disk2/saved-from-wreckage/var/state/apt/lists/www.mirror.ac.uk_sites_non-us.debian.org_debian-non-US_dists_woody_non-US_contrib_binary-sparc_Release: file name too long
I wonder what it should be using instead of cpio -Hustar, then? Also, why didn't it cause the backup run to fail?
